33rd Dubai International Rally 1-3 December 2011

Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Chairman of the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, the Dubai International Rally 2011 will be staged across the emirate of Dubai from the 1st to the 3rd December. The event is organized and run by the Automobile and Touring Club UAE (ATCUAE); the official representative of the FIA in the UAE and led by 14-time Middle East Rally Champion and FIA Vice-President, H.E. Mohammed Ben Sulayem.

The Dubai International Rally is one of the Middle East’s longest running sporting events, (33 years) and features most of the regions finest rally driving talent.  As always, it is the final round of the FIA Middle East Rally Championship, where the 2011 MERC title will be decided. This season, the Qatari Nasser Al Attiyah, winner of the 2011 Dakar Rally, will aim to secure his seventh title in nine seasons. However, two contenders both Rashid Al Ketbi currently sits in second place, behind Al Attiyah, and Sheikh Abdullah Al Qassimi in third place are still in with a chance of securing the title themselves.  

Therefore, the ATCUAE would like to remind all media that the accreditation process for the 2011 Dubai International Rally is open. To register for a media pass for the rally, please follow the instructionsin the Media Accreditation Application Guidelines published on ATCUAE website (Click Here) .Please note that the deadline for return of all applications is 17th November.
